Prep Division Showcase @ UConn July 29 - July 31, 2018

OVERNIGHT CAMPERS:

Dorm: To be confirmed by the University. Will update as soon as confirmed.

Rink: Mark Freitas Ice Forum 509 Jim Calhoun Way, Storrs, CT

Sunday, July 29th check-in will be between early afternoon at the dorm. We don't have a final 2018 schedule so this is a time-frame for planning purposes. Times should be final a couple weeks before the camp and the website will be updated and each registrant will receive an email with the information.

Dismissal on the last day will be between 2:30-5 p.m. at the rink depending on what team your camper is on. Again, time is an estimate for planning purposes.

  • There is limited parking at the dorm, so expect a quick drop off.  Only personal gear will be left at the dorm.  Families will then drive the camper to the rink for equipment drop off.
  • Arrive in workout gear as a workout session will commence right after Sunday's opening meeting
  • The dorm assigned will be air conditioned and linens will be provided; this includes sheets, a pillow, a blanket and a towel (towels include a bath towel, a hand towel and a wash cloth).
  • Campers will just need to bring toiletries.
  • The dorms will have free Wi-Fi access.
  • If you miss check-in at the dorm, day camper check-in will at the rink and you can just head directly there with overnight gear and hockey gear. The rink address for GPS is 509 Jim Calhoun Way, Storrs, CT.
  • Campers will find out which of the four teams they will be on at check-in at the rink.
  • Dismissal on Tuesday, July 31 will be after the camper's game. Dismissal times will likely be between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Parents, friends, relatives are invited to watch any of the practices and games, but parking in the rink lot between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. is restricted to commuter students (even during the summer) and could be ticketed.  Parking is recommended in the South Parking Garage <http://park.uconn.edu/visitor.html>, which is 0.3 miles from the rink.
  • Campers will have outings and seminars around campus so relaxed, casual clothing is appropriate.
  • A set of work out clothes and sneakers are good to have as well. There will be modified strength training sessions. Additionally, a water bottle is recommended for each day.  Drinking stations are provided at the rink and in the dining hall.
  • Spending money for the Dairy Bar, bookstore and university arcade might be helpful to have.  Skate sharpening is provided at the rink for $5.
  • For those that have noted allergies or other medical conditions on their registrations, a separate email was distributed with paperwork and additional information.  You all can check menu items using the following link, http://nutritionanalysis.dds.uconn.edu/shortmenu.asp?sName=UCONN+Dining+Services&locationNum=05&locationName=McMahon+Dining+Hall&naFlag=1http://
